Captain's Quarters Bed
& Biscuit This two-story home with its luxurious
wrap-around porch offers the charm of a Victorian summer at the shore. The
interior is decorated with family heirlooms and antiques that reflect the
charm of the home. The Captain's Quarters is proud to offer hospitality with
"quiet elegance," making guests feel right at home upon arrival. You'll find
Ms. Ruby, Capt. Dick Collins and their daughter Polly to be delightful,
welcoming hosts. Be sure to ask Capt. Dick Collins about what brought him to
Beaufort — his enthusiasm and love for the area are contagious. The three
upstairs bedrooms feature private powder rooms and baths. House traditions
include Ms. Ruby's fresh "riz" biscuits, full continental breakfasts and
complimentary beverages to welcome the sunset each evening. The Collins
family will gladly help you with area information and dinner reservations as
well as provide you with the use of a computer, wireless Internet
service and a fax machine. The Captain's Quarters has been rated "Excellent"

County Home Bed &
Breakfast Located on N.C. Highway 101, a half-mile north of the
intersection of U.S. Highway 70 East, County Home B&B is just minutes from
Beaufort's famed historic district. Known as the County Home, it is one of
the town's most interesting buildings and is Beaufort's only bed and
breakfast listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in
1913-14, before the days of Social Security and welfare, it was operated by
Carteret County for 29 years as a house for the area's "poor, aged and
infirm." The building's architectural and cultural interest kept it safe
from demolition but not deterioration until it was bought by Terry and Nan
O'Pray for restoration into a bed and breakfast. Because of the building's
simple yet classic design, don't expect the stereotypical Victorian home
most imagine for a bed and breakfast. Instead, you'll find ten private,
individually decorated efficiency suites complete with comfortable, charming
decor. Its location and backyard pavilion on 2 acres make it an ideal
getaway for weddings, family reunions or special weekends. Tell your family
and friends you're going to the poorhouse where Southern hospitality is
spoken with a Northern accent. Children are always welcome, and pets are
allowed in special pet-friendly rooms. |

Cousins Bed and Breakfast Cousins Bed and Breakfast in downtown Beaufort, known
for a sumptuous breakfast, is also the only bed and breakfast that
allows you to do a little shopping in your nightgown at the on-site
shop. Martha and Elmo Barnes offer two air-conditioned rooms with
private baths, furnished with an island motif. Located in the Historic
District, Cousins resides in the Jarvis-Brown House, circa 1820, and is
right across from the historic Carteret County Courthouse. Cousins'
tariff covers an incomparable full breakfast prepared by Elmo, who is a
master chef and has published his own cookbooks. Cooking classes are

The 36-room Inlet Inn stands in the same block
of Front Street occupied by the original Inlet Inn of the nineteenth
century, which brought guests from across the state to bask in the Beaufort
sun. Today's inn, of similar design, offers harbor-front rooms on the first
and second floors, each with a king-size bed and sofa. Third-floor rooms
overlooking the water offer two queen beds and a wonderful window seat for
viewing Beaufort Inlet, the waterfront and beyond. Many rooms open onto
private porches and offer bars, refrigerators with ice makers and built-in
hair dryers. Six of the first-floor rooms offer cozy fireplaces, and
wireless Internet access is available on the premises and at nearby coffee
shops. A continental breakfast, served in the rooms, consists of muffins,
bagels and juice. Coffeemakers are provided in each room. A courtyard
garden, the rooftop Widow's Walk Lounge and an on-site meeting room are also
available for guests' use year round. |

The innkeepers and restorers of the Langdon
House (c. 1733) extend the hospitality of good friends and provide all the
extras that give their guests a personalized experience of Beaufort. Each of
the four guest rooms has a queen-size bed and a private bath and is
furnished with antiques in keeping with the old Colonial/Federal home. The
latest renovation is their "Master Guest Room" with an extra-large whirlpool
bath for two and tandem shower with a Grohe Aquatower as well as other
surprises. Come here to relax; sleeping late is considered a compliment to
the innkeepers. The hallmark of the Prests' hospitality is a full breakfast,
served until 11 AM. A hearty serving of fresh fruit is followed by one of
the house specialties, such as stuffed French toast, Belgian waffles or
Lizzet's Mexican cuisine, if your appetite is adventuresome. With a word in
advance, the Prests are happy to cater to special diets and preferences.

Old Seaport Inn, located in the Historic
District of Beaufort, is just steps away from the Beaufort Historic District
and the Beaufort waterfront. From there you can enjoy unique shopping, fine
dining or take a trip to the outer islands where you can spend as much time

island guests in four suites. Two suites are apartments rented by day or
week, the other two suites come without kitchen accommodations and can
